A first time mod podge thing...

Okay so I have had a productive week so far I made a homemade mod podge which I don't know if it came out right since I've never used the original stuff. But I thought it would be fun even though some sites said it doesn't work the same...

So I used this site and did what they did. 50% Elmer glue an 50% water.

filled it back up with water and added it in...

then shook it!

I then used it to make a magazine holder out of a cardboard box. Now I have never done this before and I didn't look up how to do it so this is what I came up with.

Not really that good, but after making it I did look up how to do it the correct way (lots of insight) I did mines so wrong, I didn't even measure my paper precisely!!!

So my goal is to have a really nice looking magazine holder by the end of this month... We shall see!!

I have made my first taste test cake for this weekends baby shower it came out real good! That's all I'm going to say about it until it gets all done!!!

Oh and I also have another post planned for this weekend that has something to do with my hair okay that's it until I get this cake done!!

Homemade lip balm OH YEAH!

Okay so today I decided to get creative with the help of this site and this site to create my very own lip balm!! It was quite easy and I enjoyed making it so here we go:

The first batch I used petroleum jelly, cherry koolaid, sugar, and VIP smoothies mix.

It took a while to get the petroleum to met all the way in the microwave. I did it on 1:30 min intervals and stirred each time after about four times doing that I moved to 3:00 min intervals until it got a little bit more liquified. I would say I was microwaving for about 15 minutes.

Finally I decided it was liquified enough and decided to mix in the rest of the ingredients...I just eyeballed how much I used of each, but I did use the while pack of koolaid.

Finally I stirred it for a while and then popped it back in the microwave for about a min and thirty seconds.  After it was mixed as good as I thought it would mix I poured it into my containers and put them in the fridge.

Okay so batch one was okay but I didn't like how the texture was as much as my second batch. I have to say I think it was due to the sugar. It just didn't mix as well as I wanted it to.

For the second batch I used petroleum jelly, olive oil (forgot the picture but you know what olive oil is!), macha, and honey. I loved the flavor combination.

I followed pretty much the same directions as the first one except I added about a tbsp of olive oil to the petroleum jelly. It's seemed to melt much more easily with the 3:00 intervals and stirring. It only took about 12 mins to get it liquified.

After that I waited 5 mins before mixing in the other ingredients. Once I mixed the honey and macha in I popped it back in the microwave for forty seconds the stirred once more before pouring them into the containers!

Loved the stackable container I got from the 100 yen store. Both batches looked really good together. Can't wait to make many many more flavor combinations and I also want to make some non petroleum lip balm. Can't wait to get those ingredients I will definitely do a blog on that one as well.

Cutting the hubbys hair!!

Okay so the hubby had an awesome idea today (sarcasm)!!

He wanted me to cut his hair!! Now let me tell you I haven't cut anyones hair EVER!!

It started out good then it went very down hill.... Lets just say I ended up in tears and he ended up with less and less hair.

It was pretty eventful, so of course here are the pictures:

Okay so this is the hubby with hair!

Right before the cut began with his hair all combed down

The instruments of use!!

and the cut begins...

Its official no turning back

Okay so we are cutting the bottom part first...

Here's the top view

.....

.....

initial stopping point...

I was trying a tampered look...

not really good...

not really good at all

so we decided to do a full short cut....but not as short as it ended up being...

yeah I shaved it completely...

I was so an accident and I so cried when I first did the accident cut... But he didn't get super mad and we just cleaned it up.

So yeah the hubby is rocking a straight from bootcamp or jail cut!!! Yeah for my first hair cut...don't think he'll be letting me cut his hair any time soon!!!!
